Parents Connection
Welcome soccer parents! The Green Bay Strikers are dedicated to ensuring that each and every soccer participant has a safe and enjoyable soccer season. If you have any comments, questions or concerns (about the organization, coaches, players, referees, etc.) and you feel it inappropriate to discuss with your child's coach or division coordinator, you can call The Parent Connection at 490-7266 or send an email. Please don't wait until the end of the soccer season. We may be able to help!
All calls and contacts will be kept confidential. Remember, we all want to make this season the best ever for everyone!
Volunteers Needed
Coaches
Our success is the result of the efforts of our volunteers. The Green Bay Strikers ask that you particiapte however you can. Volunteering as a coach for your child's team is a rewarding experience, and a fiscally responsible one as well (registration discounts apply for those whose parents volunteer as coach). More information available here.
Referees
The Green Bay Strikers are looking for people age 13 through adult to officiate games during the 2007 season. The pay range is from $10.00 to $14.00 per game with two games scheduled most evenings. For more information see our Referees page.
Sportsmanship
Overall, 2006 was an outstanding year for the Green Bay Strikers. We are grateful to all of our volunteer coaches, supportive parents and referees for their commitment.
While the vast majority of coaches and parents conducted themselves appropriately, last year we unfortunately had a few situations where people let their competitiveness get the best of them and lost their cool. As a result, in 2007 the Board is taking a very strong position against negativity in all forms, and encourage good sportsmanship. Coaches, parents and players who violate the spirit of our program by degrading players, referees or others using foul language, or otherwise deprive others from enjoying the game, will be suspended and/or expelled from the program. The League's Division Coordinators will have the authority to take the appropriate action. All parents, coaches and players are required to sign a Soccer Sportsmanship Commitment contract to signify their commitment to these goals.
Remember, the Green Bay Strikers are dedicated to having fun while learning the game of soccer. Through family involvement, we foster team spirit, sportsmanship, social development and a positive self-image. Players of all backgrounds, ages and abilities have an equal opportunity to participate, excel and enjoy the game.
Noise Makers
In order for everyone involved to have the best soccer experience possible, we are asking everyone to refrain from using any artificial noisemakers when cheering for their team. Thank you for your cooperation.
Game Cancellation
The decision to cancel a game is made at the field at game time by the referee. In the case of 5's and 6-7 year olds where there no referees, the coaches will decide whether the game should be cancelled.
Parking
We ask all parents and players to respect the no parking zones around the parks where we play. Many people have been parking in these areas particularly around Wilder and Eisenhower parks. Be warned that the police will be patrolling the area and giving out tickets where necessary.
